Scrap'n Stamp : Better Days

I decided to make two versions of this card because I just couldn't stop with the rainbow distressed backgrounds.

I knew the pandas would just pop and be the star of the show on these colors.  All the cards I created were standard A2

For the striped background I actually used a cover plate die and ran it through my Gemini machine with some heavy card stock, I did this as I knew I wanted to use it like a stencil and needed something that would hold up with all that ink.

Great thing about this is not only did i do my background but the stencil got colored as well and will have it for another project later on.

I pulled out candied apple, carved pumpkin, squeezed lemonade, lucky clover, salty ocean and wilted violet distress oxides and stenciled them on to bristle card stock, as they just go so nicely .  Once I had the color on I sprayed them with perfect pearl mixed into a mini mister with water.

While the stenciled panels were drying I worked on the rest of my card. I have to tell you I played around a lot with the different pandas from the set trying to figure out what I was going to do.  But I settled on this little guy.

I stamped the cute little Panda   out numerous times, some on to die cut circles and others on scraps of card stock. I then fussy cut out the pandas as I decided I would make a little scene and pop them up on to the circle die cuts.

I die cut numerous circle dies from black, white and green card stock, this was the base for the little guy to sit on.  I ran everything through my Gemini junior ( which was my first time using it and OMG love it! ) I ran the green circles through my machine once more, this time using the grassy border die.

Before popping the pandas up I decided to add some clouds to the background just to finish the scene and add some color to all that white. From there I added the circles with the panda on top of larger stitched black circles, then popped up the fussy cut image on top of that , and did the same with the green grass die cuts.

I needed something to finish off the little scene so I dug around in my stash and found some stitched flowers that I thought would be really cute for the panda to hold.   I also found two party hats and balloons  that I had paper pieced and die cut out for other cards so I decided I would use those as well. Now the stamp set from Flora and Fauna has a balloon but I did not have the coordinating die so I thought this would work better.

The distress panels were actually cut down to 3 7/8 x 5 3/8 and adhered with foam tape leaning more to the right leaving a black strip to the side. I decided to also add some sparkle to that as well, because there's never to much sparkle on a card.  I adhered the little scene to the background panel flat only popping up the flower and the balloon.

From there I stamped and heat embossed the sentiments from two different MFT sets. ( All of which is linked bellow) with white detailed embossing powder and finished it off with some wink of stella.   One final detail I added for each of the sets was some Nuvo drops for the center of the flower and some glossy accents for the balloons just to add a little something something.

I hope you got inspired and enjoyed the cards, I apologize if my description is a little scattered a lack of sleep as scattered my brain just a little these days lol.

Please head on over and check out all the wonderful sets of Flora and Fauna Scrap’N Stamp has as well as the products I have used here.  There is also Friday the 13th sale going on right  also.
