Scrap'n Stamp "This Puns for you" Blog Hop
This blog hop is super fun, I love punny sentiments as it’s really kind of my style of humor.
I have linked to all of the wonderful designers blogs just incase you did not start at the beginning
For my project I had to dig through a lot of stamps and then realized I only had to look in my MFT collection. My Favorite things stamps have so many of cute punny sets. Well I have to admit I have many sets in my collection and some that have never seen any ink to them. I decided to use the Farm Friends set for this fun blog hop. I also had paper in my stash I knew would go so well with these images.
My thought for these cards was to keep it clean and simple, better known to us crafty friends as a CAS card
Because the images were tiny my plan was to create 4x4 cards, I had pre made card bases in my stash. I usually make my own bases but sometimes its nice to have that stock pile to pull from. I cut down some smooth heavy weight cardstock to 4x4 – and then stamped the images and sentiments onto them using my stamp press and memento black ink.
To colour these cutie petuties I pulled out my Prisma Colour pencils and started to colour the images in, I didn't use any blending solution only my blending stumps to smooth and blend the different shades of pencil.
I have to be honest, I have a love hate relationship with these pencils. I love how they look and how amazing the blend is but I HATE how easily they break, and when they sharpen they break and break and break. Needless to say this colouring session was not stress free. If anyone has tips on how to not have so much breakage with the lead I would love to hear your tips and tricks.
Once I was happy with the colouring, and boy did it take me a while even for these small images. I moved on to prepare the rest of the cards.
I started by running my 4x4 coloured images through my die cutting machine with my MFT stitched square dies which measured 2 5/8 x 2 5/8. While I was at my machine I ran the patterned paper through with the same set of dies only bigger which measured 3 3/8 x 3 3/8, I knew I had to use this paper as it went so well with the stamped images. From there I cut down some black cardstock to layer under both the stamped image and the pattern paper. The largest panels measured at 3 5/8 x 3 5/8 and the smaller panels measured at 2¾ x 2¾
Now it was time to assemble the cards, I popped the layers up with foam tape and then decided to change the layout on each cards just slightly for a little fun and interest. I added some different gems and enable dots from my stash to tie everything together. I also finished off the inside of the cards with the left over pieces of the cute pattern paper.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed.
