I created two fun cards using some of the elements the Photoplay paper “O Canada” collection. One shaker card one showcasing the pattern paper. I LOVED all the elements of the paper so much that I had a hard time deciding which to use. Lol

I also had a lot more ideas running around in my head but suffered from a little analysis by paralysis, which stopped me in my tracks when I tried to create them. Does that ever happy to you?  (Guess they will come about when they are suppose to)

Anyhoo, I do love how these cards turned out

I initially started with the simple card which in the end took me longer to finish just because I could not decide on the paper I wanted to use as it was all just to cute. Lol I really tried to get as many patterns in there as I could. lol

‚Äč

I simply cut two different pattern papers of various sizes of strips, the largest strip measuring 1 1/8 x 4  and the smallest being 5/8 x 4, I layered them on to black card stock that was just slightly bigger,  alternating the patterns and thicknesses. (I have to say one of my favs is the syrup bottles.)  I adhered all the strips down flat with my Tonic glue. For the sentiment I used one of the cut a parts form the paper collection, I just loved the sentiment, I die cut three or four black frames from a My Favorite things die set, and stacked them together to give some dimension as this card is pretty flat. To adhere the sentiment I used fun foam from my stash to pop it up on to the card.

That was it, nice and simple but packs a punch.

Once I got juices flowing the ideas kept rushing in and I new I wanted to use that cute stamp set for a card, So I stamped the beaver and the moose out a few times, first with versa fine black onyx ink and then covered with clear embossing powder and heat set this. I knew I wanted to paint them and I love to have that little raised edge the embossing provides, helps me keep the ink where it needs to be.

While I had my stamps out I created the panel for the shaker card, I stamped the two cute critters around the card stock and filled in the rest of the spaces with the Eh! sentiment and then heat embossed it all with white embossing powder.

From there I used my distress Oxides to water color the moose and beaver in as well as distress that background paper I had created.  The colors used for the little adorable critters were vintage photo, antique linen and walnut statin. For the background and the vest of the beaver I used Candide apple/

For the shaker I use the larger of the frame dies, I die cut the frames numerous times as I wanted to sandwich the acetate between the layers. While I was at it I die cut the moose and beaver from the coordinating die set from the Photo Play O Canada set. Since there was little maple leaf  in the set  I figured it would be fun to add that in to the card, would make for fun shaker material. I die cut the leaf from an alcohol ink background panel I had made previous.

Once everything was cut out, it was time to assemble the card, the shaker was also filled with different colors of sequin I had from my stash. To finish it all off I used the Proud to be Canadian sentiment from the coordination  ephemera pack and popped it up with foam tape. To add a little extra dimension, I covered it with glossy accents.
