SumMore Fun Guest designer Day 2 : Merry Nature winter tag

My second creation for the SumMore Fun blog is a winter tag using the Merry Nature stamp set and lots of fun inks.

I started by doing the background (Which I had created previously)

I created this background using the Gansi Tambi water colours, just randomly adding colours till I was happy.

Once the initial layer was done I went over it  with black water colour paint.

When I was happy and it was dry, I pulled out my finetec water colour paints and starting splattering the back ground with the paints, I also did this with the Copic opaque white ink.

I had previously used these background for other cards, some that have been posted and others that will be posted soon, but I held on to some of the useable leftovers because well as a crafter you never waste anything right, lol I luckily had enough to create a tag from.

I didn't actually have any more tags in my stash, so I took one that I had already finished off and traced the shape on to the back of the galaxy paper. I cut it out and rounded the corners with my We R Memory keeper corner rounder. From there I pulled out the Merry Nature stamp set and my misti and stamped out the big beautiful tree three times using pine needle distress oxide.  I had to readjust the height each time I stamped to give it some dimension.

Once the trees were dried a bit I Went in with a sponge and some white gesso, I added the ink on to the stamp in away that it would just add just the right amount of snow to the tree.

From there I pulled out some scrap white paper and my stitched lawn fawn die and created a little hill to ground my trees and bring it all together.  I added white glitter to the stitched lines. I pulled out a small snowflake stencil and some nuvo glimmer paste and went over the whole scene just to add a little extra sparkle.

I finished off the tag with the sentiment from the set, which said "In all things of nature there is something marvelous" Aristotle I heat embossed this with gold powder on to a vellum strip. I added in some gold ribbons and called it a day

I hope you found some inpsiration with my tag.

Wishing you all a very Merry Chirstmas/ Happy Holidays/ Season Greetings
