Fun with the Color Throw Down Challenge

Good Morning Crafty friends,
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I decided to try my hand at another challenge, this time from the Color Throw Down blog,  The color challenge was using red , green and white. This was fun for me as I am Italian and though i would do a little nod to my heritage using the  Lawn Fawn Pizza My Heart stamp set and the My Favorite Things Recipe for happiness stamp set.

**For this card I used Bazzil's Lime Crush green and Brick red for the banners, strips and background peice. I decided I would use my Versa Fine and do a ton on ton stamping with the Pizza My Heart stamp set. I used my Tim Holtz brick stencil and Dreamweaver embossing paste to add dimension and interest to the back of the card. I colored my little guy using Copic markers.

‚ÄčI  have to share a little story with you all about why I love the Recipe for Happiness stamp set.
So my dad sadly passed away from a brain tumor many years ago, but when he was alive he was so passionate about food, he was an amazing cook and infarct had his own chefs jacket. I use to tell him he should re-open a restaurant and call it PAPA BRUNO's and this little chef from the stamp set was always what I imagined on his marketing stuff. He totally looked like this little man, aside from the mustache.  So when  I saw this stamp set I felt like my dad was sending me a little message saying hello, and even though this is the first chance I got to use the stamp set, It is one of my favorites.

Thank you for stopping  by
Have a wonderful day!
