Believe in the Magic, Scrap'N Stamp Blog
For my card this week I decided I would continue with the colour challenge and see what else I could create.
I had this cute Magical Day stamp set ( which you can see below ) in my stash that I had yet to use so I knew I wanted to incorporate him.
It all started off with the black layer of the background. I was literally just playing around to see how well the oxides would stand out on it. To my happy surprise I really liked the look, so I went with it.
I mushed the ink on to my glass media matt and dragged the black card stock through the ink. I didn't use water as the card stock wasn't going to hold up well wet. I
also ended up pulling out my Fine Tech paints and splattered some orange and purple just to make things stand out a little more.
Once I was happy with the background I set it aside to dry and went on to stamping my images. I decided to stamp the bear and his little bunny using Versa Fine black onxy ink and then go over it with clear embossing powder.
I knew I wanted to water color the image in and this made it easier to contain the movement of the ink. From there it was time to color, so I pulled out my Zig Clean Colour real brush makers, a paint brush and some water and went to town.
Once I was done with the images I set them aside to dry and went back to my background panel. It felt a little plain so I thought I would add some texture and interest using my stencil and some texture paste. I mixed in some glow in the dark embossing powder to the paste and stenciled it over,
I then added more of the embossing powder once I removed the stencil as I wanted to make sure it would really glow in the dark.
Now it was time to figure out the rest of the design for the card. I went through my stash of backgrounds, paper and dies to see what I wanted to create.
I decided to pull out more of the Alcohol ink background panels I had previously made and incorporate it into this card. ( Really hitting the PURPLE GREEN AND ORANGE colour challenge here) I die cute some vellum using my stitched circle dies, as well as the believe sentiment which I ran through my Gemini three times so I could layer it for more dimension.
The card itself is a bit bigger then an A2 but not by much. It measures 4½ x 5½. I cut down and layered the alcohol ink panel on to some mirror card stock that measures 4 1/8 x5 1/8 , I also layered the black distressed panel on to the same purple mirror card stock which measured 3 3/8 x 5 5/8
I stamped and die cut a black banner using yet another Mft product (stitched banners) and heat embossed in white embossing powder. I popped all the layers up to give some extra dimension and interest. For the vellum circle I went over it with nuvo aqua glitter brush as I wanted give it that magical look. I also went over the believe sentiment. In person this is very very sparkly :) For finishing touches on the front of the card I added some sparkling clear sequins.
I also decided to finish off the inside of the card. I pulled out the same starry stencil from Tim Holtz and my distress oxides and added some detail all around. as well I stamped the little bear again using a light gray ink with a coordinating sentiment from the stamp.
I hope you found some inspiration and that you come on over the facebook page and share your creations with us.
Have a wonderful Sunday and a beautiful week ahead.
