Paper Rose Studio, Gel Press play
I am back at it for a fun and unique set of cards for Paper Rose studio, not your traditional wedding or congrats cards.
As you know I just found my way to Gel pressing and wow what an addictive new technique, (Is there any new product or technique that you just could not stop creating with, I would love to know) with the results always just a bit different than the first.
This will be a lot shorter than my usual post as I really kept it simple to showcase the stamps, dies and printing techniques.
I started out just playing around with different color combinations, adding and rolling the paint out on to the press, from there I pressed the Mandala stamp into the paint, leaving the beautiful image and also having extra paint to transfer on to another piece of paper, thus giving me two backgrounds.
I repeated the process several more times, changing the colors, going over previously created printed backgrounds with white gesso just to see how it would look.
Once I had things the way I liked, I set the backgrounds to dry and moved on to the die cutting.
I pulled out some metallic cardstock to die cut all the sentiments out of. For the shadow or layer portion of the sentiment I used heavyweight black to layer each sentiment on top. I did decide to add stick-it adhesive to the back of the metallic cardstock as the sentiments are beautiful and intricate, and would be a bit challenging to add liquid glue to without making a huge mess.
I die cut some of the panels using stitched rectangle dies and others I just trimmed down with my paper trimmer. The cards all vary in size slightly with the exception of the square card. I kept the layout clean and simple but used multiple layers of paper and metallic cardstock to add interest and pop out the colors.
Normally in my post I would give you the measurements for the cards but being there are six cards I thought I would keep it simple. If you would like any of the measurement for the cards please leave me a comment and I willing post them for you
I finished the cards of by creating the card bases and then popping up some of the layers with foam tape and some flat with liquid glue. All the sentiments were also popped up on to the cards using some more foam tape. I love dimension and felt it added just that little extra something as the cards were pretty simple and clean.
I do hope you found some inspiration with these cards, we would love to see what you create with the Paper Rose products, you can share with us on our Facebook Paper Rose community page.
Have yourself a Truly Great Weekend.
