Paper Rose Studio- Just a little Note
The cards I am about to share are pretty simple and would do be a great style for mass production if you wanted to create some gifts for people.
For these cards, I decided that I would use up some of my previously created backgrounds because let's face it, when you start making then and get into your zone and get carried away you tend to have an overabundance by the end of it, and well that is what happened with me.
I pulled out the backgrounds and some of the products I had not yet used from my design team package. Which was the Raindeer in The Forest background, as well as some fantastic new products which consisted of the Outback Tones paper pack and mesh distress stencil.
I used my distress oxide spray with that awesome stencil and just lightly sprayed in distinct places of the cardstock. I later went in with the matching oxide pad and a blending tool to just add a little more colour.
I ran the reindeer die through my Gemini Jr numerous times using both black and dark brown cardstock and then stacked them together giving it some nice dimension and stability. While I was at my die cutting machine, I ran the stars and stripes die through to create some sentiment strips for the front of my card.
I created the card base from Neenah Desert Storm cardstock and cut it down to create a 5 ¾ x 4 ¼ card, then cut down some of the beautiful Outback cardstock in red and olive green, to matt on to the base of the card, this measures 5 ½ x4 ¼. I trimmed down the distressed panel to 3 ¾ x 5 and started to play around with the layout. Then I decided that it needed to be matted onto some chocolate brown just to tie it all together, so that's what I did. I trimmed down some chocolate cardstock to 5 3/8 x 4.
I layered all the components of the card together using foam tape and liquid glue. The only portion I waited for was the banner strip as I needed to stamp the sentiment, this was done using my Misty stamping tool and some walnut stain distress oxide ink.
Once I had the front all complete I decided to work on the inside. Sometimes i just finish the card off with a piece of white cardstock this time I decided to tie it all together with a little bit of stenciling in the corners (which sadly you can't see here) and then added the Hello which completes the sentiment of the card. I stamped this with peeled paint distress oxides.
