(Please excuse me if the steps are a little jumbled I am have been sick this week and the words are just not coming to easily as my brain is in a bit of a fog)
I have to be honest this card took me a while to create and is not exactly my original idea but I am very happy with how it turned out.
When I saw the die that we would be working with for the blog hop I knew I wanted to work with my Alcohol inks, ( Suprise Suprise lol I am still so addicted to them.)
I started experimenting with the different shades of purples and pinks everything from Warm Plum, Amythyst, Purple twilight, rasberry to even Mermaid. I ended up also used Pearl mixative. To create the background I also used rubbing alcohol and a straw to move around the ink.
Once It was dry I ran it through my Big shot with the Lilac die. I also die cut the lilac die from the same color card stock as the base. While I was at it I die cut some green leaves for the stem and some vellum circles using the MFT stitched circle stack.
(This may sound silly but I wasn’t sure I wanted to cut into this beautiful background.. Lol am I the only one that feels like this)
I find it really cool that in different lighting the same paper looks like different shades of purple.
Here you can see the different die cuts, I ended up popping up the alcohol ink die cut on top of the cranberry offsetting it just a bit to add some dimension. This was a bit tedious as I had to cut the foam squares to fit behind the little petals.
From here I started to work on the rest of my card. I pulled out some pattern paper from Kaiser Craft ‘s 6x6 Misty Mountain collection. I chose the marble and the pink and gold, I also pulled out a couple shades of purple cardstock from Bazzil.
The measurements for each panel are as follows – Large dark purple messures 5¼ x4. large marron purple 5 1/8 x 3¾ and the Marble pattern paper 5 x 3 1/16
The dark purple strip measures 5 1/8 x 2 1/8 , Maroon strip is 5 x 2 1/16 and the pattern paper is 4 15/16 x 2
I adhered all the large panels and strip panels together flat and the popped up each on to the base with foam tape.
I added the vellum circle to the strip panel, off setting it a bit and adding a little foam behind the over hanging bit. I then attached the green stems together at the base of the lilac and added those to the card. I popped up the lilac (on the left) with more foam tape. (lol this card is a bit top heavy .. lots of dimension)
For the sentiment (which was done last due to the fact I had be stummped for a while as to what to add ) I stamped and embossed the Thank You Sentiment from the My Favorite things You Give Me butterflies stamps set and Lawn Fawn Rose gold embossing powder. I ended up die cutting that from the wonky stitched dies also from MFT.
The finishing touches were some clear crystal jewels in the middle of the flowers and some gold DMC floss made into a bow just to add a little extra something.
I hope you found some inspiration and enjoyed the hop. Please be sure to leave a comment for your chance to win this beautiful die set/
Thank you for taking the time to hop a long. Have a beautiful day and Happy Mother’s day Weekend
