Scrap'n Stamp blog: Crafty Friends

I started off  by prepping the stamp and creating the jig for the turn about stamp- who else has issues lining the stamp up on the package and fighting with the ruler as it sticks to the clear stamp, I don't know about you but this drives me nuts, so excited to hear they are creating tool kits for these turnabout stamps.

Once I had that all prepped I went in and started stamping using my favourite colours of distress oxides, peacock feather, festive berry, cracked pistachio and wilted violet. I created a few panels while I had everything out as I had a couple of card Ideas floating around in my head.

I set the fun backgrounds aside to dry as I used distress oxides and went on to stamp out my little girl image from My favorite things.  I used copic markers to color everything in except the shirt, I decided to do some paper piecing to add some extra elements of intreast.  I accomplised this by stamping the image out  two more times on differnet pattern paper from my stash (Lawn Fawn also retired paper I believe) and fussy cut the shirt out..

(I linked bellow to chamelone markers that are sold in the shop)

I decided it was time to stretch my creative juices and try a different style of card. I had eyeballed a Z folded card my mom had received for Christmas and decided I wanted to give this one a go. Its super easy to create yet looks just a bit fancier.

I found the measurements on pinterest.. gotta love that place it has everything!

I cut down some heavy weight teal cardstock to 11x 4 and 11 x 1¼  the second piece is for the band, I then scored and folded the card base and band at 2¾ and 5½.

The black layers for the card base measured  2½ x 4 (x2 for the smaller areas of the card) the bigger layer measuered 5¼ x 4, The second layers which consisted of the r pattern paper measured   2 3/8 x3 7/8 (x2) and the larger panel that had the stamping measured  5 1/8 x 3 7/8

The assembly for the card was very easy once I realized how the band went on ( haha took a few minutes)

I adhered all the layers together and on to the card and now it was time to add the little cutie petutie to the card. I die cut her out using Mft stitched rectangles dies and then layered her on to a black scalloped rectangle. I also I popped her up on the band using foam tape, I did the same thing for some of the heart die cuts (which were from my stash of random extra dies cuts form various projects). I added two cute sentiments one is from the Condord and 9th set and the other I love stamping is from the pure innocence set.  I totally adore how this card came out and will be making more cards like this in the future.

The second card I created was literally five minutes to make once I had the stamping and colouring done.

I created this card using the Sizzix flip it die, its so easy – it cuts the base of the card and then all the layers you need to finish it off. I ran the die through first with my teal cardstock – loved this shade with the colors of the stamped images, then I tool the turnabout panels and ran it with the layering portions of the die, finally I die cut the little girl using a circle die from my stash.

I adhered the layers to the base off the card.  To add some interest and tie in all the colours decided that the little girl would be popped up on some purple mirror cardstock it really pulled out the wilted violet in the background. I stamped out the sentiment from the pure innocence set and mounted that also on the mirror cardstock.

I hope you enjoyed and found some inspiration in my card.

Have a wonderful week and stay tuned as we have a blog hop Thursday!

Stay tuned for more details.
